Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed the authorities involved to design a separate programme and convey the industrial staff and their families under the Covid-19 vaccination coverage shortly.
She also asked to consider whether or not it might be potential to shorten the existing 2-month gap between two vaccine doses.
The Prime Minister created the directives while chairing a cabinet meeting held through a virtual platform today, said cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam at a press informing.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the meeting from her official residence Gono Bhaban and others from the cabinet area of the Secretariat.
“A special discussion was held over the industrial staff today. Since Bangladesh would get six crore doses of vaccine from Sinopharm as per an agreement signed by the Health Ministry. The Prime Minister provided instruction to vaccinate staff quickly, bringing them under a separate programme,” said the Cabinet Secretary.
Besides, the PM said that she would supervise the matter.
“The Prime Minister has instructed to vaccinate not only the staff but also their family members as forerunners,” aforementioned Anwarul Islam.
